Starting nicely with a slow rendition of Heroes by David Bowie, the concert gradually moved on to other equally slow songs. Each song was performed at a slow tempo, lacking energy from Mastodon, leading to restlessness among the audience and a few fake snores.
Following the first part, anticipation grew for Mastodon's performance of their own songs. Disappointingly, the second part maintained the slow tempo, with Mastodon appearing exhausted and disengaged. It seemed as though he was either bored or half asleep, going through the motions on auto-pilot.
I really wish Mastodon had injected more energy into the concert by varying the tempos and engaging the audience.
